picLock
for the iPhone
|
Intro:
PicLock password protects and blurs photos in your photo album. Protected photos
still appear in your photo album, but they are blurred. You can
still identify each blurred/protected photo. A motorcycle buddy of mine recommended
this application.
Protecting a Photo:
Turn on picLock, type in your password, and select a photo from your
photo album. Tap blur to protect your photo. Tap Save to add the protected
photo to your album. Repeat these steps for each photo you want to
protect. Remember to delete the originals from the photo album, for added
security.
Password:

Each time you run picLock, a password prompt appears. The first time you use
picLock, you are prompted to create a new password. Tap the password button to
change your password.
To reset your password, delete picLock and install it again. You will be prompted to
create a new password, the first time you run picLock.
To exit the password prompt, tap Cancel, or tap the iPhone home button to exit picLock.
Saving to Photo Album:

Tap the save button to save the current photo to the library. The photo
will be saved blurred or unblurred. To protect a photo, blur it.
Change Password:

Tap the change button to change your password. The new password
will be saved.
Blur / Unblur:
Tap the blur button to blur/unblur the current photo. To protect your
photo, blur it. To unprotect it, unblur it. Each time you tap the
blur/unblur button, the current photo will switch back and forth from
blur to unblur to blur and so on.
Deleting the original:

To really protect your blurred image, you must delete the original
unblurred photo from your library.
How it works:

Blurring involves dividing up a photo into 25 little rectangles. Then
each rectangle is rotated 180 degrees. Unblurring involves the same
procedure, which returns the photo to its original unblurred self.
Blurring/Protecting:

To blur/protect a photo:
1) Run picLock, type in your password
2) Select your unblurred/unprotected photo and tap the blur/unblur button
3) Tap the save button. A blurred/protected copy of your photo
is now saved to the photo library.
4) Remember to delete the original unblurred/unprotected photo from the photo library.
Unblurring/Unprotecting:

To unblur/unprotect a photo:
1) Run picLock, type in your password
2) Select your blurred/protected photo and tap the blur/unblur button
3) Tap the save button. A unblurred/unprotected copy of your photo
is now saved to the photo library.
4) Remember to delete the original blurred/protected photo from the photo library.
Viewing blurred/protected photos:

Your photo library will contain blurred and unblurred photos. You can
access blurred photos normally thru the photo album. They will appear blurred.
To unblur a photo, view it with picLock and tap the blur/unblur button. Don't save
it. Tap the album button to view another photo. If it is blurred, tap the blur/unblur
button. Exit picLock when done.
Photo size:
The iphone screen is 320 x 480. Photos come in all sizes.
The iphone changes sizes to 600x800 when emailing.
PicLock maintains the original photo size. Remember the size might
be changed by other programs when sending and receiving photos.
