coJACK (1.1)
for the iPhone iOS 4

Intro:
coJack sends emails every 15 minutes, letting the recipient know your address. Use coJack to:
  • track a lost or stolen iPhone (or other device)
  • email someone your location (not everyone has an iPhone)
  • txt someone your location (not everyone has internet access)
    First Time:

The first time coJack is run, it will prompt you for an email address. The email frequency is every 15 minutes. That's 96 emails a day. So have them sent to a dedicated email, so you don't clog up your regular email.
    Why coJack?:
It sounds like a pretty famous stolen vehicle recovery device, but it works for your iPhone. And it uses detective skills only seen years ago on TV. The lollypop helps.
    The email address:

Why don't you create a dedicated (only for this purpose) email for coJack. This way, you won't have to sift thru extra emails everyday. Something like myCoJack@yahoo.com.
    Lost or stolen iPhone (device):
If you can't find your iPhone, go to the nearest web browser (could be on someone else's cellphone), login to your email account, and see the address location of your iPhone. Even if your iPhone has been turned off, you will be able to see where it last was, when it was on and sending emails. Many email pages (yahoo, for example) will let you click on this address location and see it on a map. Pretty nifty!
    Background Process:

coJack runs in the background. This means that you can turn it on, and forget about it. CoJack will automatically send emails to the email address every 15 minutes. To turn off coJack delete coJack from the quick switch menu (when you double tap the home button).
    Send Test Email:

CoJack sends an email as soon as it can, when you turn it on. So, you should receive an email each time you turn coJack on.
    How it works:
CoJack sends an email every 15 minutes. CoJack waits til GPS is on, then waits til it gets the address location of your GPS point, then it sends you an email. This takes a couple of seconds.
    Sending text messages:

Most cellphones have an email address. For example, 8005551212@txt.att.net is a valid email, and will send a text message to that phone number.

    What's in the Email?:

When coJack is working, you get emails. You should see emails with coJack as the subject. Each email coJack sends contains an address location. The address location is the street address of where your iphone is.
    Battery Usage Warning:

coJack runs in the background. This means that you can forget about it. To really turn off coJack, double tap the home button and delete coJack from the fast switch menu.
Warning: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
When you are done using coJack, make sure it is no longer running. Double tap the home button and delete the coJack background process at the bottom of your screen. coJack will still be installed, just not running.
